HOLIDAY SURVIVAL
Okay, so have I mentioned how much I hate Chicago? Fun place to visit, but I think after three years I'm wearing out.
We went to SC to see the inlaws (I guess my wife went to see her folks). All in all it was a good time. You know there are no actual arrows on any signs on Lake Shore Drive that tell you what exit to take to get to the tollway? All there is is a sign that says "To Indiana Tollway". Does that mean to take the next exit? Does it mean to stay on LSD? I chose to stay on LSD. Ended up in South Chicago and, I'm pretty sure, two blocks away from East Chicago. This is not a neighborhood of white picket fences, nor is it on the tourist maps of "Must See Chicago Sights." But it worked out, and I missed the $2 toll. What a deal.
We spent the night in Louisville and got into Spartanburg late Wednesday night. Somewhere in east Tennesee or west North Carolina, we ran into non-existent road construction which put us 2 hours behind schedule.
Thanksgiving was good. Dad cooked too much food, all of it good. We went to the zoo and my daughter had a good time looking at lights, feeding deer, and giving camels treats with her mouth -- which resulted in a "camel kiss" from her chin to her eyes. It was pretty funny.
Spent two days on the road again coming home. Got into Chicago and, again, no definitive signage. So we came home through South Chicago and back up LSD. It was still faster than being stuck on the so-called "expressway."
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving holiday and are ready to get back to life as usual. Oh, one other thing. I found out that the Zags beat Georgia the other day. That makes up for the Apple Cup fiasco.
Peace

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
