BOWLING
Hey, I just looked at the NCAA Bowl Schedule. Despite the fact that the Cougs tanked against the dawgs and pretty much looked like they could be beat by a good high school team after that USC debacle, AND despite the fact that I picked them to play in a bowl no later than December 20, I am happy to report that they will play in the HOLIDAY BOWL on December 30 at 8:00 est on ESPN. Not a bad time slot and not relegated to some kid-brother network. They will be playing the Big 12 #3 team. Hopefully they'll do better against a Big XII team this year than last -- can anyone say "embarassed by OU"?
And apparently that nasty sick thing was passed on to my wife, diluted, and sent back to me. So, after a day of semi-health, I'm back to sucking snot.
So far I haven't heard from the program director of Chicago's CCM station. Not sure why I'm surprised. He probably immediately thought, "Poor papist superstitionist, probably doesn't know he's going to hell." I need to figure out how to work this into a sermon without sounding holier than thou.
And speaking of sermons, I give my first one at St. Augustine's on January 18. The gospel for that day is the wedding at Cana and changing water into wine. I'm thinking I'll preach on the epistle.
Peace

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
