TRADITION
Okay, I'll admit it. We primarily listen to a CCM station ever since we moved to Chicago. Actually, we listened to one back home too, but that's another story. This was the first station playing music that we found when we plugged in the radio way back in August of '01. For the last two years around this time they've started playing Christmas music. I can deal with that. But it really torks me off when they quit playing it the day after Christmas. So I e-mailed their program director and explained my position -- the whole 12 Days of Christmas Season Goes to Epiphany and this is Advent so don't stop playing Christmas music because Madison Avenue says that Christmas is over. Yeah. We'll see what happens this year. I'm not holding my breath. As a fellow student pointed out, in their minds (ie evangelical Christians that tend to run these stations) great Christian leaders consist of Jesus, Luther, Wesley, Knox, Graham and Hybels. Point taken, but I am looking forward to hearing what the program director has to say about my little rant on maintaining Christian traditions.
And in other traditional news, a Wal-Mart shopper was nearly trampled to death by hundreds of other shoppers trying to get at a $29.99 DVD player. She was found unconscious on top of a DVD player. Wal-Mart apologized and offered to hold one for her until she was released from the hospital.
Do you think the Magi trampled each other to be first in line to deliver their gift to the young Jesus?
Peace

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
