Or something like that; didn't know what else to title this particular post.
I am planning on attending the Festival of Homiletics, to be held in Atlanta, later this spring. Besides having a chance to improve my skills, I'll get to hear people like Desmond Tutu, Barbara Brown Taylor, Thomas Long, Walter Brueggemann, and many more. Did I mention DESMOND TUTU??? Just . . . wow.
The second thing going on is that at last night's FD meeting I learned there is a manufacturer that is holding a contest to give away . . . GIVE AWAY a fire engine.
"To mark the launch of the Tradition ES Series, we are offering your department the opportunity to win a new Tradition ES commercial pumper. Your department could be eligible to win by simply telling us, in 500 words or less, why your department deserves to win."
So it fell to the preacher to craft a 500 word essay on why we deserve to win a new rig. Not sure what the odds are here, or whether this company that is based in the Southeast, even knows where Montana is; nevertheless, I'm starting to work on that.
Like they say, "You can't win if you don't play."
Wish us luck.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
