LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Well, they've actually already begun, but it's getting serious now. I was given a slate of games for the next couple of weeks, but because I'm not officially certified in MT I can't yet work varsity games. I knew that would be the case, it is everywhere. So I wasn't too worried about it.
I took the test on the 12th and mailed it into the regional head guy. From there (I think) it gets mailed to the state office to be corrected, and then I'll know if I passed. It's pretty much a no brainer. For starters, it's an open book test. So even when there is a question that poses a problem, you simply look it up. Not to mention the fact that you only need to score 70%. I can't even imagine missing 30 questions on this test.
So anyway, the guy who assigns the games called me this morning and said, "Hey, are you free Friday to work two varsity games?"
That also is a no brainer. However, I did strain another muscle on my game Monday (I am getting old), so now I've only got two days to heal up. Hopefully I won't damage myself too much more and will live to ref another day.
The good thing about this is that we work 4 & 5 man crews, so my running around should be limited somewhat. Regardless, it will be fun.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
