NOT MUCH BUT LOTS

I didn't post my sermon from Sunday because I didn't preach. We had the diocesan ERD Rep come visit and she gave a talk during the sermon time.

This worked out great because I was in Chicago all last week, where I was otherwise occupied during normal sermon-writing times. So when I was presented with the option of a guest speaker this past Sunday, I was all over it. Not quite like my enthusiastic response I had when given the option taking part in all those continuing educational opportunities I mentioned previously, but I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity.

So, no sermon.

I did, however, clean off my desk, dig out from all of the incoming mail while I was gone, planned the All Saints liturgy, visited a couple of parishioners, and handed out candy to the assorted witches, goblins, ghouls, farmers and cowboys who came to my door.

The Kid is having a party over at the parish hall tonight. They went hunting for candy, then came back and played a variety of games and are generally having a good time. One of her classmates broke her nose last week, so this girl came over to the house and asked me to bob for apples in her place. I'm such a pushover . . .

I agreed and managed to pick one out in 3 seconds. Not bad. After drying my head off, one of the other girls says, "You should spike your hair more often."

I wonder how that would look on the website?

Tomorrow is Soup & Scripture in VC followed by the vestry meeting. Wednesday and Thursday are bar nights, and life is slowly returning to normal.

The Seahawks had a bye this week, and the Cougs got stomped. Montana and Montana State, however, did manage to win, so that's a good thing. And the Sheridan football team got . . . well . . . to be polite, beat, by Drummond.

And now, I think I'm done for the night.

Peace
