FOOTBALL ISN'T ALWAYS LIFE

By now you've probably heard of the death of Tony Dungy's son. Details are still coming in, but it would appear his death was suicide. There isn't anything I can say that hasn't already been said.

Alot of times football mirrors life -- goals, tries, failures, retries, sudden changes, new game plans, short successes and big scores. But at the end of the game everyone walks off the field together. Only occassionally does that not happen: Darryl Stingley and Mike Utley come immediately to mind. Now we can add James Dungy to that list. It is a sad day in the NFL.

And tomorrow the Indianapolis Colts travel to the Emerald City to play the Seahawks. Too bad for the 'Hawks, I think. I have a feeling that the Colts are going to open up a can of whupass on Seattle. The Colts were embarrassed last week by San Diego, and now their coach's son dies. This might be like the Green Bay vs. Oakland game shortly after Brett Favre's dad died. I will be surprised if Seattle wins.

Prayers and condolences to the Dungy family.
