THAT'S DIFFERENT
The state is working on the highway. That would be Main Street. That would also be one of 5-1/2 paved streets in town. This is supposedly a major project that will either take place or be completed (I haven't yet got that one straight) in "Oh-nine or oh-ten" as a friend said yesterday. And before you laugh and point out what's wrong with that statement, read the sermon below. ;)
So a few weeks ago some state workers showed up at my door telling me about this project and that they would have to be on my land (really the church's land, but that's okay) in order to do some surveying and would I mind signing the release form to let them do their job. No problem.
Last Tuesday, or maybe it was Thursday -- either way it was a VC day -- after I got home, Mrs. Ref told me that some state worker had come to the door. According to her, he said . . .
"Is the Friar home?"
Maybe I should shave my head and start thumping people with a staff. Of course, I might have to gain some weight and change some personal habits (hmmm -- could give some added oomph to Theology on Tap). Or not.
Maybe I'll just stick with Father Pastor Reverend Ref.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
