ALL KINDS OF FUN

I'm on the mend. I know I've said that before, but really . . . I am. My aches and pains are gone, coughing is now only frequent instead of constant, and if I wean myself off of that high-powered cough syrup, I will eventually stop feeling so dizzy.

On my way to VC this morning, I stopped in at the nursing home and managed to take a look at a picture of the deceased (remember .... I have that funeral Saturday). It wasn't who I thought it was. That's good news for the lady I was thinking of, but now I'm even less sure I even knew this lady. Oh well ...

Tuesday night's Soup & Scripture was interesting. I brought the soup. That means that Mrs. Ref made the soup. She gave me instructions for it, so it was all good. I put the soup on the burner at 4:30, and at 4:45 I started baking those Pillsbury crescent rolls. Only problem was that neither the burners nor the oven was getting warm. I ended up running soup bowls through the microwave, and my crescent rolls that were supposed to take 10 minutes to cook took 1:30 -- that's right, AN HOUR AND A HALF for 10 minute crescent rolls.

Turns out that one of the electrical connectors in the back of the stove was fried and we came "THAT close" to burning down the church. My junior warden put in a new stove today. He got a great deal on it -- traded two TV's and a dryer, so it didn't cost us anything.

So, while he was working on swapping out the range, I was busy working on my homily for the funeral Saturday. This should be interesting. I called a family member ... "No, we don't have any idea about readings or music. But we would like time for family members and friends to speak about her at the service."

Um ... No. I worked on my sermon some more.

One organist came by my office Tuesday to get music. Tuesday night, the other organist said he was playing. I told him to call her and get it figured out. He did and they did. She came by to practice today, and is actually quite relieved that she isn't playing the whole service.

I also managed to make copies of Sunday's ordo, the Palm Sunday ordo, and the Good Friday Stations of the Cross ordo. Now I just need to put together the Maundy Thursday ordo, the Good Friday ordo, the Easter Vigil ordo and the Easter Day ordo.

It was a productive day. With 1/3 less coughing.

Blogger is being weird. I wrote this and attempted to post it, but there was an ERROR. I tried again. Another ERROR. So this morning, I wrote another same-but-different post. Then this post came up TWICE. Deleted the same-but-different post. Tried to delete one of these multiple post.

I give up.

Deal.
