SMART?
There are lots of blogs out there owned by people a whole lot smarter and more articulate than I. Fr. Jake, Slacktivist, Mark Harris, Micah, Dylan and one of my better friends. My particular blog is more of the "light reading" variety.
Except for my sermons, I usually don't have a whole lot of "deep thoughts" here. Not that I don't have them in real life, I just usually don't post them. I'm just as happy to read what other people have to say about stuff and mull it over for awhile. This is why I never joined the debate team, I have to mull things over too long before I get around to saying anything.
Part of that is that I don't like to be wrong. Chalk that one up to childhood where almost everything I said had to be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. So I usually don't weigh in on heavy topics here. For the most part, I simply try to convey life as a small town priest.
But, as I said, I do read other blogs (no, that list over there on the right isn't for decoration). Currently, Salt has a wonderful post on biblical interpretation, homosexuality, affluence, culture and division. I highly recommend it.
So while you may not get the highly intelligent posting here as at other places, I will direct you to other good posts. And I will continue to reflect on life as a small-town priest in SW Montana.
Which reminds me .... We should start seeing cattle drives through town here pretty soon. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to driving through cow poop.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

I don't know you personally, but have enjoyed discovering your blog through various Seabury types, and I like the slice-of-priestly-life blogging style.
Surely we all have our own blogging voice, to paraphrase a certain homiletics professor.
