The crew started working on the Christ Church roof today. Today was a late day for me at VC because of the Tuesday night service, so I didn't go in until after noon. When we left (we because the girls had to make a trip to Bozeman), it was sunny and hot, and two guys were sitting on the lawn waiting for the rest of their crew to show up.
I worried about that. To me, "Starting Tuesday," means that there will be a full crew outside my building by 8 a.m., 9 at the latest. It does not mean, two guys will show up at 11:30 and eat lunch on the lawn while they wait for the other guys.
The day went well. I didn't get a sermon started, because I'm fretting between Paul and the gospel. I think I'm leaning towards Paul ... and for a long time. Maybe a series on Ephesians. And I had a long discussion with a friend about a long-term project that should be fun. And I had two visitors attend service; they were in Montana from Gettysburg.
When we got home, I immediately noticed two things. 1) There are a fair amount of implements of destruction in the church yard, and two big blue tarps on either side of the building.
2) It absolutely dumped buckets of water in Sheridan while we were gone.
So apparently, no matter how blessed sunny and hot it is at any given time, wash your car or start work on your roof and it will rain.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

Yes, I've seen that. How very appropriate for us this month.
