Happy 4th of July.
Here's hoping that your holiday and mine are better than the parents of the two kids who were killed last night when their car hit a deer and rolled off the highway.
The beauty of a clear, starry night and a bright orange moon was tempered by telling oncoming traffic to drive slow and don't stop to look.
This will be my fourth Tuesday night service up in VC. I actually should have some people here for this one. I'm planning on reading the Declaration of Independence where the sermon would normally go. I haven't yet fully decided if I want to make an editorial comparison of King George III and King George I.
Before the relative excitement of directing traffic through an accident scene last night, Mrs. Ref, The Kid and I lit off our family pack of fireworks. They were ... well ... boring to say the least. Next time, don't buy the family pack; you're better off to pick and choose.
The Anglican Church in Nigeria is pleasantly pleased with itself, and have issued a statement to that fact. The opening paragraph gave me the willies.
Two weeks from today, our foreign exchange student will be heading back to Brazil. I'm going to miss that girl.
This week, my favorite Hoosier and her family will officially move into their new home in Big Sky Country. Our kids will attend Camp together. And next Saturday, the two priesty-type people will retrieve said kids from said camp while the two priesty-type spouses and one foreign exchange student go off to explore the Lewis and Clark Caverns.
If you are backing up your vehicle and think you hit something, go look. It's a bad idea to let your spouse find out about it when they are washing the car.
Pie is always to be considered breakfast food. I only wish I had some.
Happy 4th dear reader(s). Be safe.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

This post made me laugh today.
In lieu of pie for breakfast, let me suggest vanilla yogurt with raspberries and maple syrup. its really really good.
What did your spouse back into, praytell?
Fireworks here are this evening. Should be interesting to see how Pearl Harbor does a show. :-)
Homemade pumpkin custard pie is most excellent for breakfast. Wish I had some! (I could make some, but then I'd have to turn on the oven and it's already darned HOT around here.)
The Anglican Church of Nigeria does seem might pleased with itself. (ROFL)
P.S. to Susie - the vanilla yogurt sounds good, too. I have blueberries, but no raspberries.
Susie: Sounds ... not bad. I don't know about the syrup on the yogurt, but I'd be willing to give it a shot once. I still think pie is better.
Mark: A rock big enough to put a hole in the rear bumper and do some serious scrapage.
Pat: Pumpkin custard pie would work. But with that one, I believe Cool Whip is a necessary requirement for your rda of dairy products. :-)
