I had a traveller stop in at VC yesterday evening (we get alot of those). He was in this tiny tiny three-wheeled motorized vehicle, and he's traveling 'cross country to Florida.
He was looking for a place to spend the night, so I let him put his tent up in the yard. He thanked me and then joined me for service last night.
My Tuesday Night services are pretty much a bust this year. Generally no locals show up. Most of the time it's only me for Evening Prayer. But last night I had a visitor, and that was nice.
I wish there had been one parishioner there, though. It was obvious he had never seen a Prayer Book. Oh well, "When two or three are gathered."
I do believe, though, that this will be the last year of attempting evening services in VC. It just isn't working.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

Have you tried something other than bread? "We break this pizza..."
Just out of curiosity, have you spoken to folks about why they aren't coming? Is it a time issue? Day of the week..?
Pizza would be good, but I'd be the only one eating it. I've talked to a few people ... basically all the answers whittle down to, "I'm not interested."
Got your invite, btw ... I'm afraid I won't be able to make it.
