OH YEAH . . . THE GAME

So I went to Thompson Falls to do this game. Drove to Anaconda and met the other members of the crew, and then drove from there. We left at 1:30 and got to town just before 5. Ate dinner and then went to the game site.

A few things I learned during that game:

1) An obstinate referee who won't listen to his crewmates is NEVER a good thing.

2) An invalid fair catch signal results in a dead ball. Ooops. Luckily he only got five yards.

3) A running clock after a 35-point differential is a VERY GOOD THING.

4) Including all my travel time to TF and back home, I made about $9.50/hour. That's the best rate of pay I've ever earned as an official.

5) Getting home at 2:30 in the morning probably negates that pay rate.

6) I still love football.
