Okay ...... for several days now, maybe weeks, I've noticed this message when I log onto blogger about switching to their new format. This made me a little nervous on several levels.
First .... It's new. I don't like new things. I don't like change for that matter. I am a Luddite (according to this friend, anyway). Had I not been so .... cautious .... of new things, I would be a rich man by now. After all, I did live in Seattle when Microsoft and Starbucks were just getting started. A couple hundred bucks in stock back then and .....
Second .... I spent hours upon hours upon hours getting my blog site to look like it does now. The fonts, the sizes, the flip-floppy color thing when you put your mouse over a link, and the grand color scheme of my beloved WSU Cougars. My blog site is one of the old original templates. I never changed out to the new one. So I was terribly worried that all my hard work, that labor of love and frustration (I was up until 3 a.m. working on the damn lovely template.
Third .... Change worries me. Oh, wait .... I already said that.
That same friend whom I mentioned above told me that it would be okay to make the change and that I should do it. And she offered her moral and technical support. At one point during the process she asked me how I was doing. I said I was getting sick to my stomach from the stress of making the change.
But Look! It worked! And it does seem to be a little more user friendly. Why, just as I'm posting this I notice that where I actually make all my posts isn't cluttered up with a bunch of html gobbledy gook. And it looks like I can even make postings right from the main page, instead of having to do it where I'm doing it now (because I didn't know until just now).
Life ain't so bad after all.
Change is good.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

Well ... maybe it didn't work as well as I thought. Apparently my RSS site feed has disappeared. I'd offer a reward, but I'm broke. So if anyone knows how this thing works, let me know; or better yet, let Janellen know since she is relying on getting it fixed.
God ... I hate change.
It now works just fine.
I just need to use a different bit of code for the URL subscription, from now on. And upgrading my RSS reader helped too.
I've also added to your sidebar (down at the bottom, under the sitemeter) a little link that people can use to subscribe, if they choose. It's one line of code, and you can move it around at will.
You changed things?
Updated . . . I updated things.
Don't feel bad, I STILL haven't upgraded to the new Blogger. It's that darn word "beta". To me it means "We haven't really worked all the bugs out yet and we'd like you to wander around to see if you trip over anything."
We'll see...
Peace
