So . . . the nice thing about being up here now is that I have cell phone coverage which lets me keep in contact with people if I need to, and I also have sporadic internet service, which lets me check e-mail and blog . . . well . . . sporadically.
First, just to get things straight, our diocesan camp is located on Flathead Lake. It's a wonderful location.
So on Day 2, I got up with The Kid and LW and went kayaking around Melita Island. If you look at the picture on that link, you will see the tip of a smaller island in the bottom left corner. That is Dream Island, and our camp is just below that. The kayak trip took about two hours. Then breakfast, eucharist, and I think I took a nap or maybe I worked on my sermon for this coming Sunday.
After lunch, The Kid and I took a trip over to Wild Horse Island. It's a barren island that the state allows a small herd of wild horses to run. We didn't see any horses, but we did see a small herd of bighorn sheep, three females and two babies.
I went to bed early.
The next day was the 4th of July. Great fun with the usual waterfront activities, a water fight (at which I either severely damaged or broke one of my toes), lots of traditional 4th of July food, camp fire and whatnot.
I'm also doing an adult study using "God, the Devil and Bob." That seems to be working out just fine and everyone is enjoying. Things are going better than I expected. I'm very relaxed. I preside over eucharist at 9 a.m. and adult study at 7 p.m. Other than that, I just sit on the dock working on next Sunday's sermon.
I could get used to this.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
