So it turns out that my little girl is moving from her home in itty bitty Boiten to a new place in Gustrow.
One of the things I heard she said was, "I don't want to be in the city -- I can't see the stars."
On the one hand, it's a very cool thing to be able to go out at night and see the stars in all their glory and to be able to see the Milky Way.
On the other hand, I have to wonder. Is this the same girl who complained to me about missing Chicago? Is this the same girl who, when we were moving to Chicago and spending nights in campgrounds, let out a cry of, "I'm just not a nature girl!!!"
My how things change.
Either way, I'm thinking this will be a good move for her and allow her to experience a different part of Germany.
Don't hide away, kiddo, and wish for things that are not; instead, be bold and make things the way you want them to be.
. . . more than there are stars in the sky.

Oh . . . and I hope she remembers to make her family American meatloaf before she moves.
