Sad News

I went home for lunch and turned on ESPN's Outside the Lines to hear this:

Pat Summit, head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team, has been diagnosed with early onset dementia, Alzheimer's type. She is 59 years old.

Prayers for Pat and her family as they learn to live with this disease.

What a horrible thing! My mom has Alzheimer's, but she's 90, and it's still sad to see some one who was witty and smart turn into a drooling baby. She doesn't know me, and doesn't recognize my dad in a picure of the two of them.

My cousin is a lawyer and went with us to get my mom to sign some papers that needed to be notarized. He introduced himself - "Aunt Audrey, do you remember me? Bill and Angie's son?" She said she did and signed the papers, but after he left she turned to me and asked "Who was that? And who on earth was he talking about?"

Sorry to hear that about your mom. That disease just sucks.
