The Pope on The Donald

If you were wondering what other people outside of the U.S. think about candidate Trump, here are some words from Pope Francis as relayed by the NYT:

Inserting himself into the Republican presidential race, Pope Francis on Wednesday suggested that Donald J. Trump “is not Christian” because of the harshness of his campaign promises to deport more immigrants and force Mexico to pay for a wall along the border.

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” Francis said when a reporter asked him about Mr. Trump on the papal airliner as he returned to Rome after his six-day visit to Mexico.

I'm not sure I can claim Trump isn't Christian, but I will certainly agree that he doesn't espouse anything close to Christian values or ethics.

If you haven't yet, start paying attention.

I got a bit of a chuckle (a belly laugh, actually) when a reporter asked The Donald about his favorite Bible verse, and he quoted something he claimed was from Proverbs, but it's not even in the Bible at all!

I read the Sydney Morning Herald and the English version of the Berlin newspaper. It is interesting, to say the least, to get a clear view of how the rest of the world sees us.

So many of his facial expressions looks as if he is saying "F.U.", including the hand gestures.
