GREAT EXPECTATIONS
Taylor Marshall, Nashotah seminarian, "orthodox" Anglican, and with whom I rarely agree -- Never posted on his site because I don't particularly care for the tone that he and his readers take with those who have different ideas, but yet I feel that I need to link to sites that don't necessarily agree with me -- has a post on the LavaboBowl.
He does two things on this post: 1) explains what a lavabo bowl is in church terms, and 2) explains that it is also the trophy claimed by the winner of Nashotah House vs SWTS.
Why am I bringing this up? Well, as you might have guessed from the title of my blog, I was an actual football official (high school) for some time before entering seminary. I expect to pick it up again next year. During my three years at seminary, I officiated these games, along with a crew of willing participants (Mark, Susie, Bill, Wes, Denise (Mrs. Mitch), Si have helped, as well as one gentleman from Nashotah and blogless EJ). During those games, I couldn't have cared less who won; the important thing was to ensure that the game was played fairly, within the rules, and to make sure nobody got too hot-tempered.
Taylor says that they have already started practices and are designing plays. He says that there are about 30 incoming "young" juniors. He says that they "expect to win again."
Let me say this -- now that I am not participating as an official for this game, I have no problem proclaiming my allegiance: GO SAINTS!!! I hope you reclaim the LavaboBowl.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
