ALL IN A DAY'S WORK

Yesterday I went over the information for our upcoming convention. Noticed I was listed as an "Active Deacon Canonically Resident." Hmmm . . . not quite yet. Called the diocesan office and asked if that error was important. "No, not really." What can I say, with an administrative background I look for things like that. Also noticed that the listing for Sheridan and VC still show as vacant. Wonder if I should be worried about that (kind of like going to your pre-purchased vault at the cemetary and seeing that a vandal has listed the date of death as 9/15/07).

Also chatted about the possibility of scheduling my ordination to the priesthood on December 18. It looks good from this end. I have a joint vestry meeting tonight to go over the papers, get reference letters started and then get all of that stuff back to the COM in Spokane. Al . . . most . . . there.

That service, should it go as planned, will be held in Helena. Anyone thinking of coming should put it on their calendar now. And yes, Helena has an airport. Motels too, from what I undersand.

Ordered a new file cabinet from an office furniture store two weeks ago. They got the delivery messed up and missed delivering it last week. Had it delivered yesterday. I ordered a letter-size vertical file, they delivered a legal-size vertical file. So I still can't file any of the stuff that's scattered across my office floor. Hope to have that corrected soon.

Started to put together a "thing" for marriage prep sessions that I'm now expected to do. Yeah, been married 14 years but don't trust myself to do these without a set of guidelines. Probably comes from my own marriage prep sessions where the priest seemed to wing it.

And I'm getting the information sheets back that I sent out last week. This should help get things in order.

Today I'm working on the sermon, getting some information from the VC Chamber of Commerce to see about advertising in their publications, and shooting off some e-mails.

Finally, I took the Lovely Wife out to dinner for our 14th anniversary last night. It's supposed to be one of these really nice restaurants, good food, and a menu that changes weekly. Maybe it's just me, but after we left I couldn't help but think, "A really good bacon cheese burger would have been better." Although they did make a killer chocolate mousse for dessert.

All in all, nothing earth-shattering, just life.
