AND SO IT BEGINS
Our foreign exchange student is 17 and very cute. Cute as in "has the ability to attract boys like sugar attracts ants."
The Kid is 12-1/2 and very cute. Cute as in, "She's a cute kid and it won't be long before she's attracting boys like ants are attracted to sugar."
We had our first male visitor last night. Not our "first ever" -- there was The Kid's friend John who frequented our place until he moved to Butte. But this was probably the first boy who came to visit simply because we have an attractive female in the house (who isn't married to me).
I'm not complaining here. Joe really is a good kid. Mrs. Ref likes him. He can carry on a conversation. He was willing to go down into the church cellar and clean out the chimney every so often. He plays football. He draws (studies Michelangelo). He's polite.
Last night was $8/pizza night at our favorite pizza place. We ordered two. After dinner he offered . . . offered!! . . . to do dishes after dinner. Then, after a bit, he thanked me for having him over.
Joe is a good kid. I like him. He can come back.
He won't be the last.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

There is, of course, the old warning to missionaries, visitors from other planents, and exchange students: Careful about dating the natives. :-)
This is good practice for you, dad!
