WRONG AGAIN

Okay, if you've been paying attention you will realize why I don't bet. Several weeks ago I predicted that the Colts would whup up on the Seahawks. WRONG.

Not very long ago I made a post praising the quality of football being played in the respective conference championships. WRONG.

Well, the quality of football from Seattle and Pittsburgh was great . . . not so much from Carolina and Denver. I can't remember a conference championship weekend where both games were so lopsided.

One can only hope that this bodes well for the Super Bowl. And I almost still can't believe that the Seahawks are really playing in that game. It's almost surreal.

So, what are my predictions? I'm not giving any. All I'm hoping for is a great game, that neither team tanks, and that all the players play their best.

Oh, and that the officiating crew also has the game of their lives. In a modification of the current "I love . . ." football spots:

HERE'S TO STRIPES!

GO PITTSBURGH! WOOT!

Given that record, I'd appreciate it if you'd predict Pittsburgh to win big. My little brother has abandoned his Cleveland roots and become a Steelers fan.

Budweiser had the ad with zebra with it's head in the replay hood. Couldn't help but think of you.

So, what does your exchange student think of American football?

Go Seahawks!

Go Cowboys!

Yeah, I know. But it's all I got. I can't root for the Steelers as a 'Boys fan. I can enjoy a Seahawks victory, but they aren't the Cowboys.

I hate rooting against a team. It always brings out the worst in me. Sigh. What to do?

Comment thoughts:

1) Anonymous is certainly entitled to his or her position, I'm simply glad I don't have to moderate between you and Tripp.

2) Beth, this would be the one time that my prediction would come true. I'm staying out of that game.

3) Dawg, saw the add and thought it was really funny. Much better than those annoying "Tom Ferguson: Bud Light Daredevil" ads. The exchange student hasn't seen a game yet, so her first exposure will be the Super Bowl. If Seattle does win, here's hoping that the fans don't burn down Pike Place Market.

4) Tripp: No, they aren't the cowboys, but Hasselback does wear number 8.

Go Hawks! Someone has to represent from the NFC west. Frank
