LOOONG WEEK(end)
According to my traffic tracker, I apparently do have more than two readers. That's nice to know. And a couple of them even commented on my last sermon. Thank you to Jim & Da Youth Guy. So, what have I been doing? you ask.
Monday: Normal day with Vestry meeting. Went well. Prepped for Ash Wednesday. This is good. Also had someone come and look at the furnace in the Parish Hall which was making a helluva racket.
Tuesday: Ran copies of the bulletins for Ash Wednesday. Hosted the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper at St. Paul's. It went well. Lots of people. Lots of good food. Then was slammed with a headache and upset stomach at 6:15. Left the party early. Drove home. Went to bed. Did NOT have to make a sacrifice to the porcelain god.
Wednesday: Ash Wednesday. Felt much better -- almost normal. Began my fast. Did a 12:10 service up in VC. That went well. Did a 5:30 service at Christ Church. That went better. Had dinner after service. Went to the Stockman Bar. Did not have anything other than a 7-Up. Had some good conversations. Went home. Went to bed.
Thursday: Finished the bulletin for Sunday service. Finished my Sunday sermon. I'm doing an Instructed Eucharist during the sermon through Lent. It should be good. Went the the Pioneer Bar. Had more good conversations. Came home and took The Kid to her archery practice. Attended Parent/Teacher conferences. Both girls are doing well. Went to bed feeling pretty decent.
Friday: Woke up with a rash. Drove the family to Moonlight Basin so they could ski. The Kids got lift tickets AND rentals for free because they are on the school honor roll. This was a good thing. Rash got worse. Stayed in the lodge and took some Benadryl for the rash. It helped. A little. The girls went skiing, I slept. Discovered that My Kid forgot her bow and arrows for her archery tournament Saturday. Oops. Mrs. Ref managed to reach a friend who was willing to grab the necessary implements of destruction and drive them to Whitehall. Mrs. Ref drove to Whitehall for the exchange, and I took the girls to dinner. I took more Benadryl and went to bed. Tossed and turned all night and took a tepid shower at 2 am.
Saturday: Rash is still there. More Benadryl. Breakfast at the hotel (which was very yummy). Got The Kid registered for her shoot. Took her to Location #1 for the first shoot. It was an indoor 3-D range. She did very well. Only missed one animal. Then we had a loooong wait for the next event. Rash is getting markedly better. In between, the girls went cruising around the mall. I slept in the car. Took The Kid to Location #2 for the target shoot. She did very well. Rash got progressively worse and prompted Mrs. Ref to say, "You look like a freak." Finished at the target shoot and drove home. Stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up some different meds and an Aveeno solution and some munchies for the trip. Got home safe. Unpacked the car and went to the ER. Answered all the obligatory questions and got a shot of Benadryl and some steroid. It seems to be working, and it seems to have made it very difficult to stay awake and focused (I've had to correct many typos).
And that was my week. Now I'll head to bed and get some much needed rest before church tomorrow.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
