BENCHES
Little by little, our labyrinth is taking shape. We laid the rock last year, so step one was complete.
Step two was to put a few small benches in the center so that people would have a place to sit and meditate if they wish. Mrs. Ref thought that having a bench with a flip-top lid would be ideal as I could store meditative-type stuff in them.
She drew up what she wanted and took it to the high school carpentry instructor. His class finished four, single-seat benches for us this past week, and Mrs. Ref picked them up today (with the help of the parish treasurer and her truck).
They look great. Each one has a different design and style, but they are all about the same size, and all four of them fit nicely into the center of the labyrinth without crowding.
The best part is we only had to pay for materials. So our four benches cost us a whopping $30. Not a bad deal at all.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

Hooray!
I'm really impressed with this. Now the kids and their family and friends have a permanent place to admire their work. So cool
