HERE WE ARE, ALL TOGETHER ...
We made it to Chicago in one piece. If you're wondering, it's about 1500 miles from our front door in SW MT to the front door of our friend in Wilmette where we are staying. We did it in two days. I must be getting old, because my right knee is just not taking that trip as well as it used to.
The SWTS class of 2006 got themselves graduated. Congratulations to Ryan, Mitch, Dan, Hope, Michelle, Cliff, Siobhan, Andrew and all the others, as well as spouses Denise, Annette and others.
I also have to say that the Rev. Bonnie Perry did an admirable job as the preacher. There were, however, other .... glitches ....
BUT .... I'm not here to talk about that, and everyone was duly graduated and hooded, and that's what was important.
It was also really great to see some old friends, professors and other people that we know. Afterwards, Heather opened her house to a party and Susie and Beth spent the afternoon and evening cooking all sorts of yummy stuff that I found to be yummy, even though there was no meat. *sigh* But it was all good. Especially the artichokes!! MMMMMM
Several of us clergy type sat around and talked liturgy, the nuances of alb vs cassock/surplice, the benefits/drawbacks of contemporary music, and other things that we find exciting but non-clergy types might find a bit droll.
Today we are off to Chicago proper. A train ride in, Navy Pier, the Aquarium, and what not. It should be a fun day.
Oh ... and to my friend Dave who thinks I'm humorous, feel free to use the song from which this blog is titled in your next contemporary service. ;)
Peace

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
