Well folks, fall here in Montana is over. It was a nice three weeks while it lasted, but it's now into winter. The mountains are snowcapped, there's snow on the ground in VC, and we're starting to see cars arrive in town with snow on them.
And I had to scrape windows this morning before leaving for work.
Yes, it would seem winter has arrived. And it looks like it's going to be a doozy.
I worked a junior high game in Dillon yesterday. Actually, I worked two of them. They schedule a game for the 7th graders and then a game for the 8th graders.
Folks ... IT WAS DAMN COLD!!! It's been a long time since I've been that cold. Air temp was about 25, and the wind was blowing something awful. One of my partners tossed the ball to me and the wind caught it; I now have a very fat index finger. At least it wasn't raining or snowing, so that was good.
The cold and the wind took alot out of me; and even though I'm a morning person, I could've slept until 9 a.m. easily.
Today I worked a game over in Lima. They play 6-man football there. It's sort of like being on a playground. Or, as someone said tonight, "Calvin Ball!" But they play against Twin alot, and Twin plays 8-man ball. So they have this deal where when Lima is on offense, they use 6-man rules, and when Twin is on offense, they use 8-man rules. Lima only had nine players, and one got hurt. Not too hard to know if they have the right number of guys on the field.
But the wind from yesterday blew all the stuff out of here, so it was just very crisp. It was a perfect day for football. I was thinking I had over dressed, but then after halftime it started to cool down substantially, so I was okay.
That's about it. I think I'll go to bed early tonight.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I was so excited to see rain yesterday (real rain, with puddles!) and it the temperature really plummeted last night. All the way down to 71°!
I'm still debating on whether or not to delete the above malicious post . . .
That wasn't malicious! That was sympathetic!
Well, sort of. I'm actually enjoying rain for a change. Blue skies, white puffy clouds. Does get old.
That last one WAS malicious.
