AND SPEAKING OF FOOTBALL ...

Montana beat Montana State in their annual rivalry game this past Saturday. It was a decent game, and, not being from here originally, I really wasn't rooting for anyone in particular. Although, truth be told, I had a soft spot in my heart for MSU since they were the underdogs. (Hey, once a Cougar fan, always an underdog fan)

Anyway . . . it turns out that MSU was awarded a first round home game in the I-AA playoffs (yes, a football division that gets it right). This is rather surprising. What isn't surprising is that perennial I-AA powerhouse UM will also host a first round game. Both games will be played on Saturday, November 25.

But here's the best thing: MSU & UM are in two different brackets, and it is entirely possible that they could meet each other again in Chattanooga on December 15 for the National Championship.

Now that would be way cool.

(Thanks to Craig for the heads up on this)

I personally couldn't think of anything better than an all-Montana National Championship game.

Well, maybe said game played at Washington-Griz. :)
