NO SERMON

The Bishop made his (bi) annual visiation to Christ Church and St. Paul's this weekend. It was a good visit all in all; but when the bishop comes to town, I don't have to preach. So at least I didn't have to worry about prepping a sermon amongst all of the other plans in getting ready for him.

We had 25 people at Christ Church, larger numbers than normal, so that was nice. And we were just under our average at St. Paul's because a couple of our parishioners are out sick and two of them are traveling through the Midwest to see family. But it was a good visit with the bishop.

Saturday afternoon he met with the Christ Church vestry. That's never anything exciting, but it's always good to have the vestry meet with him. After that meeting, we made a trip to The Stockman Bar because the owner had said, "If you bring your bishop here, I'll buy him a drink." Done deal. So we headed out to the bar for a drink and there were several regulars there who knew me and we all had a good chat.

Then it was off to the school to see the Missoula Childrens Theater production of "Beauty Lou and the Country Beast," (Yeah, I know the article is from Tacoma ... deal) which The Kid had a part in as Older Daughter Sandy Dee. She did a good job and was asked to audition for the MCT's summer theater program. (Insert pic of Proud Dad here)

Afterwards, we went to dinner at the In Back for the BEST PRIME RIB EVER, and the bishop gave my daugher an amaryllis because, "It's tradition that actors get flowers after a performance." I have a very cool bishop.

This morning we had the bishop over for breakfast, as well as the two directors of the MCT. I did designer pancakes. The bishop got a view of Christ Church (complete with 1959 earthquake cracks), our foreign exchange student got a basketball hoop & ball, The Kid got a heart, MCT director #1 got a smiley face (because she's not a morning person) and MCT director #2 got a ballerina (because she likes to dance). Then it was standard church services, lunch, naps, football games (Seattle lost -- twerps), and an Advent Lessons & Carols service this evening at 7.

So, no sermon today; but the above should've kept you entertained.
