A PRODUCTIVE BAR NIGHT

Unlike my recent run in at the bar last month with the gentleman who insisted on peppering every sentence with at least three f*** words, last night seemed rather mild. Mild, but productive.

I had a long conversation with a guy who does not attend church and thinks religion is generally a bunch of b.s., but he's decided that it is time for him to give something back to the community. So he asked me how he might help out with the food bank, since he sees that as benefitting the most people across all religious, denomination, gender and racial (such as they are in SW MT) lines.

I am a board member (or is that bored member??) of the food bank. I told him I would let him know how we might make use of his offer.

Then he and his wife invited my family to dinner sometime in the near future. They're supposed to call us with a date.

After that, I had a longer conversation with a lady who is concerned about some . . . domestic . . . issues a friend of hers is going through. The short story is that I told her I would find some helpful options.

It's good to know that hanging out in the bars does more than get me free beer.
