DIOCESAN YOUTH IN MISSISSIPPI

Several of the diocesan youth and leaders have headed down to Mississippi for a post-Katrina mission trip. They are keeping an online journal here called St. Jame's Kids in Mississippi. I've also linked to it.

Here are a couple of facts for you:

Hurricane Katrina did not just hit New Orleans

People are STILL recovering from the hurricane (figure out how much we've spent on the war in Iraq and how much we've spent helping our own citizens recover and decide where our government's priorities lie)

Okay -- enough depressing sh**. The good news is that people from our diocese are down there working. Please keep them in your prayers for safety on the job, protection from an overwhelming sense of loss, the ability to accomplish some good while down there, and for a safe return home.

Prayers and blessings to everyone involved.

I'd love to know which church they're working on!

Songbird ... If you go to their link, they've got two churches listed. I believe right now they are at Christ Church, Mississippi.

Our youth will be headed to New Orleans and then to see Fr. David in Long Beach this August.

August on the Gulf. I'll bring my sunscreen.
