At least we have water, right??

Okay, so the water main got fixed, and by this morning we had water.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that I was told it would be a good idea to turn off the water heater, "just in case."

So I did.

Thought I turned it on this morning. Nope. Turned the dial, but that doesn't actually turn the thing back "ON."

So we have no hot water because yours truly isn't competent enough to know how to do even the most basic of home-ownership tasks.

I should never have left that apartment.

========= UPDATE =============

A friend stopped by last night and, while I held the flashlight, got the pilot light lit. We now have hot water. This is a good thing.

The town, however, is still under a boil order.
