Today I had to go up to Helena for a Foundation Board meeting. This is the group of people who decide what to do with diocesan investments.
Yeah .... I'll give you a minute to stop laughing.
Mostly, though, we listen to our financial adviser and authorize him to do what he thinks is best.
Today, though, we had a couple of money managers come in and talk to us. I sort of felt like Arlo Guthrie's main character in "Alice's Restaurant" when he listens to the Sargeant talk to the Group W people and how to fill out the paperwork . . . "Didn't understand a word that he said; but we had fun playing with our pencils."
After the meeting, I got home in time to get up to VC and print out master copies of ordos for 28 Pentecost, Thanksgiving Day, 1 Advent (111th anniversary of Christ Church and blessing new books and an Advent wreath) and 2 Advent (Bishop's visitation). Mailed the bishop his copy of the ordo along with his Visitation Sheet (so he knows what to expect when he gets here).
Then it was home for a quick dinner and off to the City Council meeting. And it was there that I heard about STAG/WRDL grants, PER's, CBDG's, flow rates, IPP's and all sorts of other stuff.
It was a banner day for feeling stupid.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

Oh, I am there so many more days that I want to admit... Especially if it involves anything with a number.
