We got the east side, or main side, of the church painted. This is a good thing. There have been a couple of people who have been confused about the orientation of the church . . . as in, what direction it is oriented . . . geez!!!
Anyway . . . I'm going to try to help with that. Follow these simple steps:
1) Using an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of paper, label the very top "north." Just below that, draw a little rectangle and label that "altar."
2) Draw lines down the paper on each side, following the red margin lines.
3) Somewhere about the bottom hole, draw a line across the paper connecting the two vertical lines.
4) Over in the right hand margin, roughly across from the altar, write "sacristy." Over in the right hand margin, somewhere in the middle, write "east side." And over in the right hand margin, roughly across from the bottom hole, write "main doors."
5) Now turn the paper 1/4 turn to the right, so that the altar and "north" are on your right and "east side" is on the bottom.
That, my friends, is how the church is oriented and how you see it when you look at the pictures a couple posts below.
Now . . . I was talking about paint. I received a bid from the painter to paint the north side of the church. My parishioner who covered the cost of that job has also decided to cover the cost of painting the north face. This is really good news and a wonderful gift, for which I am all excited.
And, in traditional Montana contractor language, I will make sure to have pictures up for you to see sometime today. ;-)

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
