It Fits!

The funeral director stopped by today with his casket; well, probably not his personal casket, but a general "this is a typical casket" casket.

He and his assistant were there, and we enlisted the help of one of the painters as we hauled it from the back of the Suburban into the church. We set up the pews where I'm planning on them going after the floors are finished, and then we wheeled the thing up front to see if it would make the corner.

It did. Without any any problems.

Yes, it's the little things in life . . .

After that, I pulled up the carpet on the steps, since the flooring guy is going to work on those as well. The good news here is that there is no pad or glue underneath this section of carpet, so pulling it up will be relatively clean.

The bad news here is that the installer's motto must have been, "Why use one nail when 18 will do?" Amazing.

But, that part is finished and the painting progresses. I forgot to take the camera to work today, so no pictures. Sorry. Later.

More updates later.

I'm just curious... which one of those nails was the last one in the coffin? Or.. was the entire matter laid to rest?
