Fare thee well

My daughter leaves for "college" tomorrow.

Well, not real college, but she's spending six weeks at Montana Tech for her Upward Bound program.

I told her to call me when she got up, after her lunch, and before she went to bed.

She looked at me like I was nuts. I think that's a good sign.

So, off she goes, spreading her wings, turning into a big girl.

Oy.

I bet she's going to have a wonderful, fun, life-changing 6 weeks. When I was her age I spent 4 weeks at summer program at a university here in the east. I came home a much more confident and grown up person.

Oh, and I had such a blast during the free time they gave us... but I won't tell you details, because then you might not let her go... ;-)
