Indy

Yesterday we went into Butte for The Kid's birthday. She's 15 now . . . I'm still trying to figure out how that happened.

Anyway . . . we went to Butte for her birthday. Picked her up at Tech for dinner -- actually, Mrs. Ref and my parents picked her up since I was arriving from Livingston; but The Kid never checked her messages that let her know they would meet her at 4, so she wasn't found until well after 5 (which is another story) -- and we all met at Perkins. Decent food, reasonably priced, great dessert, and The Kid had fun opening presents.

From there we went to see the latest Indiana Jones movie. We had taken a friend of The Kid on this outing, and the two girls thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I, however, found it rather dull. It seemed to me as though they had recycled all of the best bits from the first and third Indiana Jones movies along with a dash of National Treasure. And the big "surprise" really wasn't all that surprising.

If you want to see it, go during the matinée. In other words, it's better than waiting for it to come out on DVD, but not good enough for full price.
