Plans Change

Originally I had planned on going into work as normal, finishing the sermon, printing the ordos and doing all of the normal priesty-type stuff I normally do on Thursday.

And then ten minutes ago the ceiling above the stairwell collapsed.

Apparently we had more water coming through the damaged roof than I was aware of, and the water-soaked plaster finally gave way.

I wonder how this is going to fit into that sermon?

The kingdom of heaven is like . . . a hailstorm? a hole in the roof? a collapsing ceiling? downed power lines? a tree over a car?

How about "Dear congregation, please dig deep into your pockets when the offering plate comes by because WE NEED A NEW ROOF!"

Think that's to strong?

Cheers!

The kingdom of heaven is how you respond when those things happen.
It's not God's will those things happen; God's will is caring for those affected by such things.
