Saturday Stuff

Friday was an interesting day. It's normally laundry and housecleaning day, but that was a challenge due to . . . um . . . dryer issues. But that finally got resolved. It made laundry an all day affair, instead of a half day affair.

I also got a visit from the insurance adjuster. He came out and looked at the three roofs. If I've read this right, it looks like we'll get two new ones out of the deal, as well as interior work to cover up that new skylight thing that developed Thursday morning.

My contractor also came down at the same time, so the two of them talked, and that was a good thing.

Then I went and helped with the Fire Dept "Fun in the Sun" event. We had bbq pig and chicken, potato salad, baked beans, pop, a beer garden thing, and a DJ playing music. The kids danced on the tennis courts and people hung out, talked, and practiced throwing horse shoes.

Today we served breakfast and lunch while people competed in the horse shoe and softball tournament. And it was blasted hot -- I believe it was in the mid-90's today. But hey, it's a DRY heat.

Everyone had a good time, and turnout was better than expected for this being the first time we've done such a thing. And our new foreign exchange student from S. Korea seemed to enjoy herself.

It was a good day -- Finally.

"dry heat" hahahahahahahhahaha!
Living nine degrees from the equator, I have absolutely no idea what that phrase means.

Dry Heat def.: What happens inside your oven.

Dry heat is a blessing. If you were in Florida, you would drown if you went outside right now. But in lieu of water ballon fights, we can just hurl handfuls of air at each other. =P
