One Long Day

Even for me, that was One Long Day on the football field.

We walked onto the field at 2 p.m. for our pregame duties. We were to officiate a jamboree type setting (3 teams, each team plays each other for 2 quarters -- so 6 quarters of football).

After the jamboree thing, we had a full JV game between Sheridan and Shields Valley.

The FIRST QUARTER of that JV game lasted 56 minutes . . . That means, Jane, that 12 minutes of football took almost one hour to play.

We walked off the field at 6:30 p.m.

Four and a half hours. That's a long time for the guys in stripes to be on a field.
