Christmas Eve was wonderful. We had a good turnout for service, I got to use my thurible so the church smelled wonderful by the time service started, and the sermon was relatively decent (I was going to post it here and on the parish website, but I left it on my desk).
I love candlelight services, but they always worry me. Let me just say that we had wax issues that will need to be taken care of when I return home.
Christmas Day was also nice -- we had a good turnout for services and got out of Dodge not too terribly behind schedule. We met our friends in the WalMart parking lot and picked up a new shower curtain rod (the curved variety) for our repaired bathroom. And then we made the drive over to Spokane where we are spending the night with good friends who feed us and allow us to stay every time we come to town. The drive over was great -- dry roads & good temps.
Tomorrow we will continue the journey to Wenatchee to spend time with my in-laws. That will be interesting for all sorts of reasons. We'll spend roughly a week there, then come back through Spokane, and then back home.
AND THEN . . .
We will drive over to Billings to pick up our new foreign exchange student.
My first Sunday back from vacation will be Christmas Lessons & Carols. Not only because you can't get enough Christmas music, but because that service doesn't call for a sermon; so I don't have to spend my vacation working on a sermon.
Enough of that for now. Here's wishing you all a blessed Christmas Season.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
