It's laundry day here at the Ref house. Laundry is my family chore. It started back when The Kid and Mrs. Ref had to go to school and work respectively on Fridays, and, since Friday is one of my days off, it worked. I was able to get the laundry finished without people around, and it's sort of a mindless task that, in some ways, gives me breathing space from the day job.
While I fold, I usually have SportsCenter on because . . . well . . . it's better than the soaps. They showed a clip from the LA Kings/Vancouver Canucks game last night. And in that clip there were two things that I've never seen in a hockey game and probably never will again.
First, King and Canuck got tied up with each other along the boards and the stick from the LA player went up under the Vancouver player's eye shield. Luckily it didn't do any damage to his face or eyes, but it got stuck there between the shield and his helmet. And he's skating over to the ref, hockey stick caught in his helmet, wondering why there wasn't a penalty called.
Second, the Vancouver goalie made a fabulous save to keep LA from winning; but in doing so, he got his stick caught in the blade of his skate.
Odd stuff on the ice.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.
