We're back home from my first official vacation at the new place. We had a good Christmas Eve and Christmas day. After Christmas Day service we packed up and headed north to drop my M-i-L off at her son's house before she went back home. The rest of us went on up to the Sea-Tac area to visit my folks and take our exchange daughter for a day in Seattle.
While there I managed to get a decent sermon written for today, the Feast of the Holy Name. Got home on Friday, did nothing but decompress, then did all the laundry the next day.
Today went fairly well. I seemed to forget a few things here and there, but we all survived. The office desk is a mess, the in-box is full, and tomorrow is a recognized holiday.
I'll get to it all on Tuesday.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

Glad to hear you had a nice vacation! It's always good to get away. We only had one service on Chrsitmas Day and New Year, instead of the usual two. Twenty people on the 25th and 35 yesterday which, for as small a parish as we are, was pretty darned good. Dr. J said she felt so relaxed she really enjoyed coffee hour for a change. Everybody always wants a piece of you, and it's so hard to concentrate on conversations while you're trying to decompress from the service.
