Good News

This came across my news feed this morning:

Anglicans & Eastern Orthodox agree on Christ's Incarnation

My first thought was, "Well, yeah."

Followed by thoughts of, "Duh . . .," and, "It's about time," and "Why was this a big deal?"

But, hey, in the end, it's better than most news I hear about on a daily basis.

Well, that's certainly interesting. I know there's some tension over the creed; the Orthodox have a problem with the Holy Spirit "proceeding from the Father and the Son", and tend to agree with them. (In case you're interested.) But the Incarnation? If not, what's the point?

The issue with the Creed has been a sticking point ever since Rome inserted "and the Son" without consulting Constantinople.

And when discussing Jesus, there was that little tiff between the homoiousios and the homoousios crowds.

Apparently these are things we argue over when we aren't busy watching Big Bang Theory, Cops and football on Saturday afternoons.
