Flood

And the rains came . . . and came . . . and came . . .

It started raining last night.
Last night the creek was dry.
I has rained all day today.
At lunch today I noticed that the creek was at flood stage.

I have a home visit this afternoon.
I will not be coming back to the office.
I will, instead, be making my way to the store to pick up flood-type boots, a rake, and then head home for damage control.

I'm hoping that the waters have not yet gotten to the house and I can get everything cleared before Mrs. Ref gets home and has a stroke.

I will never again live next to a water source if I can help it.
