I was informed, when I was a senior in seminary, that I would never . . . NEVER . . . have to take the GOE's again. This was news that made me and all of my classmates very happy.
Apparently they forgot to mention those odd times when Christmas falls on a Monday. Which means that vacation commences immediately after the Christmas Day service. Which means that Advent 4 and Christmas Eve are the same day. Which means that I have to prepare, print and fold four sets of ordos and write three sermons in one week.
"No more GOE's" my butt . . .
The good news, though (just in case you thought I was griping), is that my ordination status is already confirmed.

A Few Words About Comments
Comments are always welcome here, but there are a few things you should know:
1) If you comment, leave a name. If you can't figure out how to log in or register or whatever the system is making you do (which, believe me, I fully understand how frustrating that can be) and you must comment anonymously . . . leave a name in the comment section. Purely anonymous comments will be deleted.
2) Comments I deem to be offensive, irrelevant, or generally trollish will be deleted. I'm mainly talking to the Akurians here. Don't make me get out my flag!
3) If you would like to receive e-mail notification of other comments so you can more easily follow a conversation (yeah, like I ever have those on this blog), you must register with Blogger. Sorry . . . I didn't have anything to do with that one.
Enjoy the game.

LOL!
My classmates and I are getting ready to cook meals for the 34 seniors/Anglican studies folks here who will be taking GOE's for 4 days this week...
:-)
Excellent!!! You have no idea how important that is to those people until you actually go through it. SWTS assigns personal chaplains for the event. Mine was fantastic -- cooked meals for me (my wife left all my favorite recipes), fixed lunch, prayed, and had me over for dinner on the off day to discuss anything BUT GOE's.
You and your classmates are doing a good thing.
Do I get to choose? I'll take the four ordos/three sermons over the GOEs, thanks.
