THE GLOBAL SOUTH

The Global South has been getting a fair amount of press throughout the current Anglican Troubles. And what with ++Akinola, ++Venebles and a host of others whom I can't remember (Uganda, Zimbabwe, Indonesia ...) spouting off, we sometimes forget that The Global South isn't quite the monolithic theological bloc it might appear to be.

Case in point, South Africa. Archbishop "N" (because I can't remember how to spell his name [I think it's Ndugane] let alone pronounce it). He seems to have more important things to consider than the sexual orientation of people.

And so does his predecessor, Archbishop Desmund Tutu. He had this to say about the current issues within the Anglican Communion. It's too bad most of our other primates and bishops are so focused on the wrong issue.
