7 and 8

I don't really follow basketball, but I do have a favorite college team and that's Gonzaga.

After years of success on the men's side, the GU women are starting to put together their own history of success. And as it turns out, the GU men AND women are in the NCAA tournament.

The women are a 7 seed and will be playing UNC in the first game . . . in Seattle. That's practically a home game for the ladies. They play Saturday evening on ESPN2. And yes, I plan on watching.

The men are an 8 seed and will be playing FSU in their first game. They were rewarded with a placement in the West bracket, but their first game is played in Buffalo. Well, that's in the western part of New York. If they should win that first game, they will then play Syracuse (the #1 seed in the West bracket) next. Bummer. But stranger things have happened.

So . . . here's wishing both the Gonzaga men and women a good, deep run into the tourney.

I left out Kansas when I said I thought Kentucky would win. My two favrite teams are Kentuckt and Okla/State.I like Gonzaga but they usually, don't do as well as the experts think.
