One of the things I do for the diocese is work on the congregational development committee (otherwise known as the CDC). We visit parishes on an as-needed-basis and basically help them define and focus their mission.
Last week Mrs. Ref and I were in Livingston.
Right now we are in Big Timber.
Next week we'll be in Great Falls.
We finished the first session with the group here, and we will finish up tomorrow around noon. So, if you figure our weekends by churches visited, we are almost 2/3 done with our most recent tour of Montana. If you break it down by sessions (Fri/Sat; Fri/Sat; Fri/Sat) we are 3/6 done with our visitations.
Either way, I am beat and will sleep well. No bar bands downstairs. No screaming fans. No people running up and down the stairs. No drunks having conversations in the street. And no trains running through all hours of the night.
Yep . . . sleeping well tonight. And tomorrow we will finish our time with a very lively group of people from the Episcopal church in Big Timber.
