Goodness

Today was a good day all in all.

We had 38 in church today that included a good number of visitors for a baptism. My first of those actually, since every baptism we've had in my almost six years of being here have been performed by the bishop during his visitation.

The service went off without a hitch. The baptizee only grumped once and then not at all even when the very cold water ran over her head. The parents and godparents all performed their duties without mumbling. And even the newly baptized received a little communion wine. After the service we all had a festive time in the parish hall.

At 1:00 we went to some friends' whose daughter graduated from MSU this weekend. Good food and good people.

And tonight we have the youth group dyeing (thanks to YF) 10-FRIGGIN-dozen eggs for the upcoming Easter egg hunt next week. The kids will lead most of the service (held at our place and, if I did this right, we can mange 98 people in our little building -- no, really), and then lead the adults over to the UMC parish where they get to have fun hunting eggs.

Not a bad spring day if you ask me.
